Grand Paradox is a variety band from Grand Rapids, Michigan. The band was officially formed Friday, July 18, 2014 at 6:00 pm EST. The band consist of three GVSU buddies with a passion for music.

Acting as the main vocalist, rhythm and lead guitarist, and interchangeable drummer and bassist is me, (Check Bio Page) Mante Baldwin. Acting as the bassist, pop/punk vocalist, and interchangeable rhythm/lead guitar and drummer is Eric Pastula. Acting as drummer, rapper, and variety instrumentalist is Brandon Nguyen.

Brandon and I met during my freshman year of college. I forgot exactly how we met, but I’m sure it is along the lines of me walking around the building and finding random rooms to stop in. Brandon and I hit it off immediately. Not only through music, but through martial arts as well. Brandon and I both practice Taekwondo, actually, he convinced me to join the club at GVSU. I am proud to say that I have been friends with Brandon for a consecutive three years, and plan to continue this friendship for the rest of my life.

I met Eric during a Japanese Cultural Association event. Either that or a party thrown by our friend Saaya Hashimoto when she was still in America, one or the other. I met him closer to the end of my freshman year, earlier second year. I didn’t really know much about him at first, but I liked his sense of humor and his open personality. Shortly after, I found out that Eric was also a Japanese language student, and our bond was set as well. It was just a greater plus that he also loves music. I have been friends with Eric for a year and a half, but I am proud to say that I plan to continue this friendship for the rest of my life.
